    Zhejiang Tea Area

    Zhejiang is also called “Zhe(浙)” for short which is located in the East of China.  With Shanghai and Jangsu in its North, Anhui and Jiangxi in its West, Fujian and Zhejiang in its South.  Zhejiang Province, on the whole, a mountainous province, mountains and hills accounting for 70% of the total area of Zhejiang, and generally higher elevations west and south.

    It has a long history of planting Chinese tea trees.  Tea is the leading and sustainable development agriculture in Zhejiang.  Zhejiang is also the main green tea producing area in China.  Zhejiang carried out natural and organic tea project in order to improve tea quality.

    Zhejiang established tea business relationship with nearly 60 countries in the world.  The main tea it sells to these countries are Gunpower Tea and all kinds of famous green tea.  Zhejiang became the biggest place all over the world for producing, processing and exporting green tea.

    The main teas in Hangzhou city:
    Xihu Longjing: It is produced in Xihu area which is located in Hangzhou city.  Longjing is one of the China top ten most famous tea and it is the first one among them.

    Jingshan Tea: It is produced in Jingshan which is located in Hangzhou city.  People also called it Jingshan Maofeng Green Tea.

    Jiuqu Hongmei Tea: It is a traditional famous black tea which is produced in Xihu area in Hangzhou City.

    Tianmu Qingding Green Tea: It is produced in Tianmu mountain which is located in Lin’an.  It is mainly sold to Netherlands, Canada, Britain and Japan.

    Putuo Focha: It is a kind of Green Tea produced in Putuo mountain which is one of the four Buddhist famous mountains.

    The main tea in Wenzhou city:
    Yandang Maofeng: It is a kind of Green Tea produced in Yandang mountain which is located in Yueqing.

    The main tea in Taizhou city:
    Yunwu tea: It is the treasure among green tea which is produced in Tiantai mountain in Tiantai County.

    The main tea in Huzhou city:
    Zisun tea: It is a green tea produced in Guzhu mountain which is located in Changxing.  Zisun tea is the best tea which was regarded as tribute tea in Tang dynasty. 

    Anji baicha: It is a green tea produced in Anji.  The material used to make Anji baicha is a kind of tea tree whose tender leaves are white and use the green tea process method.

    The main tea in Lishui city:
    Huiming tea: It is produced in Chimu mountain in Jingning Shezu Zizhixian.  This tea gained first-class certificate and gold medal in the Panama Pacific International Exposition in 1915.  So it was also called “gold medal Huiming”.

    Songyang Yinhou: A famous green tea produced in Songyang, Zhejiang.

    The main tea in Quzhou city:
    Jiangshan Lvmudan: It is a green tea regards as tribute tea in Ming dynasty which is produced in Jiangshan.

    Kaihua Longding: It is a green tea produced in Kaihua and was regarded as tribute tea in Ming dynasty.

    The main tea in Jinhua city:
    Wuyang Chunyu: It is a green tea produced in Wuyi.  It was regarded as Zhejiang top ten most famous tea two times.

    The main tea in Ningbo city:
    Wanghai tea: It is Zhenjiang famous green tea which was firstly produced in Ninghai in 1980s.

    The main tea in Shaoxing city:
    Zhucha (gunpowder green tea): It is produced in Pingshui in Shaoxing.  It is one of the first export goods.  Pingshui is famous for “green pearl” (Zhucha).
