A matcha bowl is an integral part of a matcha tea ceremony, and is of course used to hold the matcha tea. This bowl is made in the ‘coarse pottery’ style, with a texture less delicate than porcelain but a more rugged charm. The body of the bowl is black with tiny white spots, somewhat like stars in the night sky; there is also a rusty red color spread among both the interior and exterior of the bowl, like clouds during the sunrise or sunset.
