Angel's Comment:

Honeysuckle is good for antiphlogosis and clearing heat, which make it more suitable to be a regular drinking in summer.

Honeysuckle is famous for its cooling, detoxifying, antisepsis, and antiphlogosis effects. At the beginning you may not like the flavor of it, however, so it is recommended to drink it mixed with other herbal teas or honey.

Characteristics

Honeysuckle has a white flower in bloom which later turns to yellow, and is also called Rendong. A Chinese name for it is “Jin yin hua” (金银花), which can be literally translated to mean “golden-silver flowers”.

Honeysuckle has been known to be a good remedy for heat-clearing and detoxifying since ancient times. The Compendium of Materia Medica, the most complete and comprehensive Chinese medical book ever written, records its efficacy in detail - and modern medical studies have verified the flower’s efficiency in antiphlogosis, too.

It is a well-adapted plant that can grow along hillsides, under bushes, or even in small farm courtyards. Fengqiu is the region known to be growing honeysuckle for the longest time, with almost 1500 years of cultivation history. As a result, it is identified as the honeysuckle production base for all of China.
