Characteristics

Honeysuckle, with flower of white color when blooming and later turn to yellow, is also called “Rendong”. Thus, Chinese people also called it“Jin yin hua”(金银花), which could be literally translated into golden-silver flowers.

Honeysuckle was known as a good remedy for heat-clearing and detoxifying since ancient times. Compendium of Materia Medica, the most complete and comprehensive medical book ever written in the history of traditional Chinese medicine, also records its efficacy. Besides, modern medical studies have shown that honeysuckle also has good efficacy for antiphlogosis.

Honeysuckle is a well-adapted plant, who can grow in hillsides, bushes or even small farm courtyards. Fengqiu is the earliest place planting honeysuckle with almost 1500 years cultivation history, so it has been identified as honeysuckle production base of China.
