National Intangible Cultural Heritage: Qian Liang Tea
“Qian Liang Tea” is a traditional renowned tea in Anhua County. Each roll/branch weights a thousand liang (about 36.25 kilogram). Liang is an old unit of weight and Qian means a thousand. As the teas are wrapped in the lattice bamboo basket, it is also called as “Hua Juan Tea”.
“伙计们嘞,把杠抬哦,齐心压嘞用力踩呦!”(carry on raising the bar, press together and stamp hard).
As the actors yelling “Huo ji men le, ba gang tai o, qi xin ya le yong li cai o”, the performance of Qian Liang Tea art begins. We made a video of the “Anhua Bai Sha Xi Qian Liang Tea Working Song Show” in the expo, which is performed by seven professional tea makers (Gang Ye) from Bai Sha Xi.
The mystery Qian Liang Tea Working Song Show, which is full of strength and emotion, is a working dance developed from the Qian Liang Tea Art of National Intangible Cultural Heritage. It presents the progress of making Qian Liang Tea by the performance of the working song.
