Chengyuan Ecological Tea Garden is located in Chengyuan Township, Zhenghe County, and features a typical mid-subtropical monsoon humid climate, also known as an alpine climate. The average temperature is around 14.7℃, with an annual precipitation of 1900 millimeters. The area is characterized by high humidity. Chengyuan Township has an average elevation of 800 to 1200 meters, with 30,000 mu (about 20 square kilometers) of tea gardens. These tea gardens benefit from an excellent ecological environment and high soil organic matter content, creating natural conditions favorable for the growth of tea trees. The high mountain mist increases humidity and lowers temperature in the tea gardens, with the tea trees growing under diffused light, which is beneficial for their growth. The significant temperature difference between day and night in the tea gardens contributes to the accumulation of nutrients in the tea leaves. The fresh leaves are rich in substances, making the produced white tea aromatic and rich in flavor.
Zhenghe County, a jurisdiction of Nanping City in Fujian Province, is located at the junction of Fujian and Zhejiang provinces in the northern part of Fujian, making it the easternmost county of Nanping City. Fu'an Dabai Tea Tree species was discovered as a local fine variety during a mass tea tree improvement survey and selection work carried out in 1964. Although it has only been discovered for just over a decade, its introduction and breeding development have progressed rapidly. This semi-arboreal variety features a tall and large tree form with a distinct main trunk. The tree height reaches about 2.8 meters, with a width of approximately 2.7 meters, and the main trunk diameter is about 5 centimeters. It produces white tea of excellent quality, particularly Silver Needle, characterized by robust buds and prominent white hairs. The fresh leaves (one bud and two leaves) contain 27.16% tea polyphenols and 4.56% caffeine.
