Angel's Comment:
The teapot is beautiful in shape, smooth in lines and good in meaning, which is ideal for collecting or gifting.
This Long Feng Cheng Xiang teapot is made of high-quality Qing Shui Ni and full-handmade and craved. The lines of the whole teapot are smooth and round, which make it very adorable and delicate. The spout has a decoration similar to the phoenix tail, while the handle is designed in the shape of a chinese dragon. The literal meaning of the Chinese character “龙凤呈祥”is: “the dragon and the phoenix bringing prosperity”, which also has the symbol of auspicious events. It not only has a beautiful meaning but also echoes the overall design.
Material – Qing Shui Ni (清水泥)
The ore for this purple clay is a type of mica-rich hematite, often used for drinking mugs in ancient times. Because this clay contains relatively fewer impurities than other raw materials, and because it does not change shape or glaze when firing, it is widely used for crafts. It is mellow and ruddy as well, often earning the name of “red purple clay” or Hong Qing Shui. The clay has a quaint look to it, and after using a teapot made of this material for brewing the same type of tea over and over, the taste of that tea in further sessions will gradually deepen. For these reasons and others, both teapot makers and tea drinkers love this kind of clay.
The Maker – Yuan Ting
Yuan Ting was born in the Zisha village of Yixing, and is skilled in the design and creation of Zisha teapots while using a style combining both modern reality and older tradition. As a result, her works are elegant and graceful, yet simultaneously simple. Using only top-quality materials in her works, she inherits and reinforces tradition while stepping forward with bold innovations in her own uniquely personal style.
