This tea stand is made of Wenge Wood, which is perfect for Pu-erh cakes’ display or storing.
Wenge wood is named for “chicken wings”, with which it has a similar grain and appearance. Using stands to hold and display tea cakes is beneficial for a couple reasons: first off, it saves space and avoids the weighing-down of cakes from being stacked one atop another, and second, keeping the cake out in the air and on display will allow the tea to transform quite well in a dry, ventilated environment.
This tea stand maintains the natural color of wenge wood. After careful grinding and polishing, with no further processing or modification the wood grain is retained in the final product. It is made of four separate pieces of wood held together by two hinges for a simple and antique yet resilient design. It can also be used for displaying porcelain plates and other such things apart from tea cakes.
