Angel's Comment:
Nice pekoe and honey fragrance. Although it lack of some mellowness, the sweetness is great and worth a try.
According to legend, a tea farmer's tea garden was ravaged by insects, but he was unwilling to suffer losses, so he still processed the raw material to tea and sold it to the city. Unexpectedly, his tea became very popular because of its special flavor, and this kind of tea was gradually known to the world. Later, this tea is known as Oriental Beauty, and the "insects" are little green leafhoppers. When the tea tree is bitten by the small green leafhopper, it will produce a defensive reaction and release aroma substances such as jasmonic acid. The saliva of the microscopic green leafhopper is mixed with the compounds generated by the leaves, and after fermented, it produces a distinct mixed scent of flowers, fruits, and honey. This is the most charming aspect of Oriental Beauty Tea. Although TeaVivre's Oriental Beauty is produced in Fujian, but the Jin Xuan tree species were imported from Taiwan. All in all, this tea is quite affordable and worth a try.

We may all believe that Oriental Beauty is a unique tea in Taiwan, yet many Taiwanese and Fujian tea growers collaborated decades ago to introduce Oriental Beauty's tree species and production skills to the mainland. This Oriental Beauty Tea is produced from Oriental Beauty Tea Plantation in Nanjing, Zhangzhou, Fujian, which is around 700 meters above sea level and has ample rainfall and lush ground all year, making it ideal for tea cultivation. This one-of-a-kind delicacy is the result of a symbiotic relationship between the tea plants and the plantation's little green leafhoppers.
Nanjing County is located in Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. There are many well-known picturesque areas here. It is also one of the most important tea-producing counties in the country and one of the top ten tea-producing counties in Fujian Province, having approximately 120,000 mu of tea gardens. Nanjing County has a typical subtropical marine monsoon climate, with no harsh winters and no high summer heat. The average annual temperature is 21.4°C, and the average annual rainfall is 1821.1 mm.
Jin Xuan is a cloned, shrub-type tea variety, developed through research at the Taiwan Tea Agricultural Research Center. This special variety is known for producing oolong teas with a unique spring floral fragrance and creamy undertone.
Oriental Beauty Tea is also called Peng Feng Tea, or white-tip oolong because its tea buds are full of white fuzz. It is reported that Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom drank this tea more than 100 years ago and loved it because of its beautiful color, mellow and sweet flavor, and since it came from the East, thus she named it "Oriental Beauty Tea."
