Angel's Comment:
Honey fragrant golden buds, sweet, smooth and delicate.
This Dian Hong Golden Needle Black tea is produced in Fengqing. It selects the most plump tea buds, and the finished-tea is beautiful in appearance, full of golden hair, rich in aroma and infusion-enduring. The first two steeps taste soft with a fresh sweetness, the light floral fragrance fills in mouth; the third steep is getting richer, sweet potato and honey note are obvious; from the forth steep, the liquid becomes very mellow, with sweet aftertaste, producing a copious secretion of saliva; while the next few steeps slowly back to the original soft and sweet taste, which is very interesting and delighted.

Dasi Tea Garden is located in Dasi County (1000 - 2679.8 meters above sea level), the northwest of Fengqing County, on the south bank of the Lancang River. The tea garden is surrounded by mountains, with an altitude of 2200 meters and an average annual temperature of 18°~22°C, which belongs to subtropical climate; The temperature difference here between day and night is large, and the annual precipitation is 1,200 to 1,700 millimeters. Clouds and mists, abundant rainfall, fertile soil, mostly red and yellow soil, rich in humus, provide a unique growth environment for tea trees.
This Dian Hong Golden Needle black tea is produced in Fengqing, located south of Dianxi Longitudinal Valley. Fengqing is a country in the northwest of Lincang, one of the four famous pu-erh production areas (along with Xishuangbanna, Pu’er, and Baoshan), and is one of the original birthplaces of tea in the world. It is also famous for being the hometown of Yunnan black tea. Fengqing has a long history of planting, producing, and drinking tea, and contains a beautiful throng of mountains webbed with rivers.
Feng No.7 specie is a new tea variety cultivated locally in Fengqing. Most of the trees are about 50 years old and have only been promoted in recent years. The tea buds of Feng No.7 are larger and fuller than the large-leaf species, and the tea pekoe is dense, so that the black tea produced by it is beautiful and golden in color. In addition, the taste of Feng No. 7 tea is sweeter and softer, yet it does not lose its mellow taste and is very infusion-enduring. Therefore, more and more tea farmers began to choose Feng No. 7 to produce golden needle tea.
The best place based on natural environment to grow tea is in Fengqing, Yunnan, which is where Dian Hong black tea was first produced in the 1930s. The first batches were instantly popular and quickly exported through Hong Kong to England and other western countries, and nowadays Dian Hong is one of the most respected and best-known types of Chinese black tea. It is held with the highest regard in China, and is often presented by the government as gifts to visiting dignitaries.
